Legal Matters – Road Traffic Accidents

The number of people using motor vehicles continues to grow at speed! Despite improvements to the manufacture of vehicles, road traffic accidents do occur and unfortunately people do get injured. Innocent people who suffer pain, anxiety and financial loss through someone else’s negligence deserve compensation.

If you have been injured in a road traffic accident in the last three years that wasn’t your fault or even if partly your fault you may be entitled to compensation.

You may have been injured as a pedestrian, cyclist, motor cyclist, or as a passenger. Do you know that you could claim as a passenger against your own driver if the fault was theirs whether another vehicle was involved or not?
Your claim would be against the Insurance Company of the driver at fault. It is also possible to make a claim even if the identity of the other driver is unknown or if the driver did not hold valid insurance.

You may already have legal expenses insurance available with your motor insurance and if you do, your Insurance Company will put you in touch with a firm of Solicitors with whom they have an arrangement. This firm could be based hundreds of miles from you and you may never meet your Solicitor.

Remember, you are entitled to instruct a firm of solictors of your own choice.

You may also be tempted to ring one of the many free phone numbers seen across day time television but again you might end up with a firm of Solicitors based hundreds of miles from you.
